When Jesus Sat Down
1st verse
On the Day of Atonement when the high priest went in
To the Holy of Holies to atone for their sin
The sacrifice offered, was the blood of a pure, unblemished lamb
Was applied by the priest on God’s Mercy Seat for the transgressions of man
2nd verse
Then a new way provided for the atonement of sin
And Jesus was offered as the sacrificed lamb
His blood our atonement, on the cross where he suffered, bled and he died
He arose from the grave, sits in heaven today by his father’s right side

When Jesus sat down the plan was completed
When Jesus sat down his work was all done
Death was defeated and now at the cross victory is found
Satan thought he could win but that came to an end when Jesus sat down

Now in heaven their singing and celebrating with praise
Every time there’s a sinner who is saved by God’s grace
What a time of rejoicing with the saints up in heaven I will be found
Because of what he has done, victory was won when Jesus sat down
